Tense Times at Bronxville High

To be honest, as interesting as it was to read, I think it placed the app. process in an overly-dramatic light.

I may be working my butt off right now as a senior, but I'm not some nutcase who is going to spend every night and every hour available on my apps.

i live in a town neighboring bronxville and it's the same, if not worse, here

It's so strange to hear about this kind of thing. I come from a small town and the majority of kids from my high school don't even go on to college. It's also strange how much parents put into this, it's the kids life, I feel like we should be the ones to figure it out.

I like how CC got a shoutout in that article.

Yeah, I wish my parents were that helpful. It will be an uphill battle to get them to help with the application fees to top schools, especially if they're not in the Midwest.

It's official: CC is now a site where "high school students post their qualifications and ask about their chances of admission". And I thought the chances forum was one that no one ever visited!

rofl they completely generalized CC into a "Chances Forum".

There's A LOT more information available than they gave credit for =/

I know alot of people who graduated from Bronxville High and other HS's in affluent areas - and yeah, the students/parents do very much care and stress about getting into a "top" school.

^ Oh I know that- I come from one of those areas.
But we're not nearly that insane.

The article makes it appear as if it's the norm, rather than a very rare case.
