Tension Rod Size

There is a thread on here where someone posted that the only problem they had moving in was that they had purchased the wrong size tension rod. It was either a hair too big or too small. Can someone please find that post for me? I am going a little crazy trying to look for it with no luck. The rod I am looking at comes in ‘24 to 36’ or ‘36 to 54’ and I need to know which one will work right.

We didn’t use a tension rod as I was afraid it couldn’t hold much weight. We used 3M Command hooks and then a stainless curtain rod. Put the three hooks up and then place the curtain rod in the hooks…Worked perfectly and has lasted all year. (Didn’t have to worry about the perfect size and it looked nice.) Good luck and Roll Tide!

This is the rod I am looking at. It looks a lot sturdier than the one at Walmart. I saw it in a picture another mom showed me of her son’s room. I just need to know which size is right.

I would buy them both and return the size that didn’t work.

Go with the larger size. I know Riverside windows @45" and I believe Ridgecrest S (may be narrower) but I don’t think they’re smaller than 36" wide.

The answer is … 33 3/8 wide (for RCS)
