Tentative FA Packages - EA

For those of you who submitted the CSS PROFILE by Dec and received a tentative FA package, would you like to share what NEU gave you??

I am [tentatively] receiving $33900 for next school year, including $15000 from the Dean's Scholarship, $2500 from the NEU grant, and the rest in federal aid.. My household income is slightly lower than $40K, so I'm going to need some outside scholarships to make up the difference between that and the tuition. Hopefully it goes up after I send in the FAFSA.

I didn’t fill out a profile yet but I did get a 12000/yr scholarship. Apparently after the RD pool it can go up!

same. i got about $34000 for next year. currently my parents are making under $20k and one of them is unemployed. is the money set in stone? can it go up after i submit the FASFA? can it go down? ahhhhh i dont want money to be a problem

Dean’s Scholarship: 17,000/year
Financial Aid: 5,500 in loans

Yeah, it can go up or down. I would think it would most likely go up for both of us though, especially you in your situation.

it depends I was in the same position both of my parents are unemployed and i got about the same( huge endowed scholarship) but northeastern does not do 100 percent need so you will have to take out between a 5-10,000 loan.

i got 17 k in deans scholarship and another 20k including loans. so i got 37,050

Does the FAFSA usually increase the FA package? Especially when you actually have a lot of need left over.

I got $12,000 a year in grants including $5,500 in Stafford Loans annually with a household income upwards of $175 K. I am not quite sure how they figured this out, but I’m not complaining.

Your Dean’s scholarships will NOT go up after FAFSA. The only thing that might change because of FAFSA is your loans. Most people just get the max stafford loans (5500 per year for first year students).
