Tepper chances tepper chances!

My parents think I can get into any school I want, but in comparison to the amazing students on CC, I'm not so sure! I'd really love to know what everyone else thinks. I have posted these stats in the general "Chance me!" section, but I would love to hear from those of you who really know CMU! Thank you in advance.

I am rising junior in a great high school from Minnesota. I'd like to study anything business related, especially finance or accounting. Still, I might consider studying mathematics or economics.

I really appreciate everyone for reading this! Please let me know if there are any schools besides these that might be a good (or better) match for me! I would definitely be interested in applying ED or EA.

Bump! No responses :(?

AP Lang & AP Lit in one year? Odd, but cool(: I’d say that your chances totally depend on your ACT score… With a 30, no way. With a 33, I’d say it’s a reach, but quite possible. If you can manage a 34+, I’d say it’s a high match or pretty low reach, just because it’s so selective in general, but if you get your ACT score to 33+, you should have great chances(:

Chance me people…?(:

Thanks EliKresses! Yup, our teacher prepares her APLang students so well, that she recommends just taking both tests. She’s been really successful in the past!

I really appreciate the response!

No problem(: And wow, I wish my AP Lang teacher was like that! Our class seems to be a critical thinking class… And a joke, in general.

I am kindof curious. You said that there was no chance of being admitted with a 30 ACT. On the site for the incoming class in 2011, the average ACT through the whole university was a 31 composite, with a 31 in English and Math on average. This includes the extremely prestigious SCS and MCS, among others.

Even though my composite ACT is a 30, I have a 31E, 32M, 30R and only a 25S. This doesn’t seem to unrealistic to me.

Odd… Wait… The graduating class of 2011? Or the admitted students from 2011? Applicant stats have risen highly lately; last year CMU SAT averages jumped 100 points per section from the previous year… I mean, I could be wrong, I haven’t looked up the stats or anything, so yeah.

Guess you’re right haha… Well, I guess your chances just went up considerably… Hmm, if you could get your SAT up to a 33 it’d still help alot though. But I guess a 30 gets you in the door, and the rest of your application is great…(:
