I am in-state VA and having a hard time choosing Tepper and UVA A&S. Tepper is a fantastic school with world class business programs. I will need to apply to McIntire at UVA. But the cost difference is about $40k per year. Are CMU’s network and Tepper’s prestige much better than UVA’s A&S (assuming I won’t get in McIntire for now) to justify the $160 k difference?
If I were in your position I would go with UVA. I think you should get into McIntire if you got into CMU and McIntire is just as good as Tepper in terms of rankings and networking.
If 160K does not mean a lot to your family, choose Tepper. Otherwise, UVA.
