*terps- Class Of 2010*

Lol yup I knew about all those championships.

I watched field hockey's championship game on TV.. I'm not terribly good but I played all 4 years of high school and I absolutely love it. The championship game was amazing and I'm so proud of Maryland! They beat Wake Forest for the first time in like 4 years I think. I'm gonna try to go watch their games next year!

I'm going!

Major: Vocal Performance (soprano), and Mathematics
Program: Honors, Gemstone, Banneker-Key

hey guys,

pretty excited...

um I play hockey golf and lax and would prob try to play a few of those club or intramural

Major: Undecided
Program: Scholars Earth Life and Time. I was hoping for Media, Self, and Society, but I didn't get in.

Just came back from the University of Maryland Spring Open House. My feelings were mixed for the most part. The students are very friendly and the campus is insanely diverse. The dorms were atrocious though, especially those in the College Park Scholars Cambridge Residence Hall. However, the scholars program had a very community feel to it, which was great.

How bad were the dorms? Could you describe them? They looked terrible when I saw one last year..................ug

they aren't the prettiest things in the world but as u become upperclassmen, they look REALLY nice.

i heard that the freshmen dorms are also really fun to be in..i went into denton and while it was pretty ugly outside, the girl who decorated her dorm did it nicely and it looked really good.

CCrunner, I have talked to you many times but I can't remember what scholars program you are in or your major, what are they? Also what other schools are you considering.

Today must have been an ugly day to go to maryland. Next week i am going to Maryland day and they have the campus looking good for that. When I went I was told right there that I had gotten into business scholars which was really cool. Right after I found out some girl named Katie, who I think was the same person who did the online chats, talked to me and mom for about a good 15-20 minutes and went over everything. After that I was basically ready to go. She said scholars was really easy but was very beneficial. She said that it is easier to get more out than what is put in. She showed me the book they were reading and it was about sports management in baseball and she said they would talk about it in class.

Later, I saw the citation requirements for scholars business. I was really happy because there are 3 courses I must take, English 101 which I hope will be completed by AP tests, Econ 200 which I also hope will be completed by a 4 on the AP test, and intro to business and management which is the funny one. I have taken intro to business in a local community college and I have taken intro to management, i just haven't taken intro to business AND management so i don't know if those are fulfilled. There are 3 more supporting courses that must be taken and any 3 can be chosen from a list of about 30. In that list I have Psyc 100, GVPT100, and and hopefully will have econ 201 done. SO it is possible that I will only have to take the colloquims every week.

marylandgirl. I went on a tour in febuary and they showed a ugly room that was made just for visitors to see. This past time I went into a real dorm and into a real room with real people inside(how exciting) and it looked much, MUCH better than before. The girl made the room all nice but it seemed good enough for me but I really don't care if the room is small. I am dorming with a friend so I know i can handle living with someone I know. When I visited in febuary at the business school we were taken on a tour by some kid. When someone asked about dorms he said he wasn't going to bs us, they were the worst living conditions he has ever endured but he said that he loved it because it just was fun. I don't expect to have a big room but I think I'll enjoy it regardless.

^When we did a dorm tour on the B/K interview day, students were just opening their doors to see why it was so loud in the hall (we were in Queen Anne I think), and gave us impromptu looks at their dorms. It depended on the students--some rooms were really nice and clean, and some (usually the guys) were like how my friends dorms are at my high school...cramped and messy. But good in my mind.
