That was a dumb comment.

I just LOVE how 16-22 year olds presume such expert knowledge of the law...

I just LOVE uncorroborated insults!

That one hit a little too close to home or something? Would you be somewhere else if it wasn't for affirmative action? What's it like having to defend an unjust institution to substantiate yourself?
--It must be tough if you feel the need to call names on an internet message board over it.

If you didn't like that I can give you 20000 other activist rulings!

gay marriage, guns, etc

take your pick!

It appears that several of the posters should have failed their American Government class, or at least the part on the judiciary. How about some of you take a little refresher on the purpose of the courts of appeal before commenting on what they should/shouldn't do? Particularly in light of the fact that it's about the 6th time they've heard the case.

1) I didn't call any names, I said you made a dumb comment.

2) This thread is not about affirmative action, so I won't even go there

3) It's great how when they make a ruling that you don't agree with you write it off as "activist." How convenient.

Look, every day many families make the decision to take their loved one off of life support and let them die in piece. I know that now many people put this stuff in their wills, but does everyone? Has everyone who is in a vegetable state been consulted before pulling the plug? No, because the families make the decision. Does that mean that their constitutional rights have been violated? What makes Terri's rights any more special than all of theirs?

People are trying to turn this into a political issue. I think that it is an insult to Terri and to this political system that we call American Democracy.

The thing about all those other cases is that the family was in consensus, no conflict of interest and stories as there is in the Shiavo case.

Their rights are important too, and it's unfortunate that nobody has spoken on their behalf. However, Shiavo's hasn't been forsaken like that and ought to be allowed to live since when they were going to pull the plug, she made a desperate effort to say: "I want to live." This was on Larry King today and if you didn't watch it, perhaps you should refrain from making biased comments that say next to nothing about the legal rights and judicial tyranny at hand.

"judicial tyranny at hand."

it is the tyranny of the constitution and due process, if you dont like it, get an amendment passed

Oh yeah, and since the founding of the United States was illegal, let's repeal it too

no, not at all, just dont rail against a judiciary that is not to the right of attilla the hun

it is a matter of due process and federalism

conservatives only uphold their states rights beliefs until they have to pander to another constituency

You really seem to have mastered the fallacies MzLover

I try, but I'm giving up right for right now.

Now I gotta pack for my vacation.

where are you going?

The land of my birth (Paracho) and of my childhood (0-12) (Uruapan)

OK, really, who would want to be hooked up to a machine for 15 years? I can't imagine having a loved one in that state. I would at least want to hold on to positive memories of them. I agree, let this woman die in peace. If it gets to the point where you can't even enjoy life anymore, what's the point? The media has already turned her into a sideshow. The parents if anything seem so selfish to me. Please, this thng has gone on long enough.

Why would he (the husband) want her out of the way? Hasn't he already made the decision to be with someone else?

Call me selfish or "immoral", I really don't care.

Then what's the point of wasting your posting time?

Because I feel like it and I have an opinion (Yeah, even in the wee hours of the morning). Why, do I need a reason? Any problem? Didn't think so...Thanks for the great comment, MzLover3. Really made my day.
