<p>This sounds so weird to me! My financial aid package was nearly perfect; my family contribution was just about what we could pay, and I won't be in too much debt (although it's substantial) when I graduate. Then again, I live in a one-income, lower-middle-class family with six kids... maybe that had something to do with it.</p>
<p>Also, a clarification for some earlier posts:</p>
<p>Brown, like the other Ivies, guarantees to meet 100% of your demonstrated financial need. This does not mean that everyone gets a free ride; rather, they calculate your expected family contribution (which may be much higher than you think, and higher than your FAFSA EFC!) and give you grants and loans to make up for the rest. </p>
<p>Brown, again like the other Ivies, gives no merit aid, so why should they be expected to match finaid packages that include merit aid?</p>
