Terrible SAT Subject Test scores that contrast with my regular SAT and ACT

I did much, much worse than expected on my SAT subjects.

Math 2-650 35th percentile
Literature-700 75th percentile
Biology M-680 54th percentile

These contrast with my 1470 SAT and 33 ACT.

I am especially disappointed with my biology score because I got a 5 on the AP test, and was hoping for 750 at least. I am aiming for top UCs and higher. Will these really bad scores pull down my application? I don’t even know if I should retake biology because I thought I knew everything on that test and I can’t pinpoint what I might have gotten wrong. I feel that my AP scores might make up for these, but I’m not sure. Should I even send them?

The Top UC’s do not require SAT II Subject tests however, to be a competitive applicant having good test scores will help your chances. What is your intended major?

This links show the Subject test recommendations for each UC. If they are not recommended, you do not have to send, just self report your AP exam scores.

One thing to keep in mind about the perceintiles is that the takers of those tests are self-selected…the only people taking Math 2 or Bio are people who are A) Really good at those subjects and B) Are going to a college that requires SAT 2 tests, which are generally topped ranked school.

So these results tell you how you are doing against top STEM students…something to keep in mind but not the end of the world. You are an average STEM major Biology test taker.

I am looking to major in business or something similar such as economics, or computer science. I’m probably going to retake math 2 for this reason. However, many top schools require at least 2 subject SATs, and at least 1 science. Is this bio score okay or should I retake? I’m just afraid that I’m going to be again surprised with a bad score as I felt that I did good on this past test and I got high scores on practice tests; I’m not sure what to study.
