Terrified of apush grade

I had an APUSH Paper Due but I wasn’t able to submit it:

  1. My laptop hinges broke completely and I had to use my dad's laptop to restart it
  2. I was out all week in APUSH from AP Testing and couldn't work on it in class.
  3. My dad has an illegal version of Word and the laptop quarantined it because he didnt renew the activation code.
  4. I had to go on a trip to a different city with my parents and the hotel had no wifi, and I tried to use the hotspot (i only have 300MB of data per month) to finish it and the hotspot kept disconnecting and it wouldn't work and eventually i ran out of data trying.

My teacher doesn’t have the late assignment option for turnitin.com, so should I ask her if I can still turn it in? This paper is 50 points of a major assignment, and it would bring my grade from a C to an A (heck I’m ok with a B).

I’m so worried and I feel like my teacher is just gonna get mad when I tell her everything that happened because they all seem as fake excuses.

I usually don’t procrastinate on major projects and I try to always get them on stuff, I just really hate myself for what happened right now. I really don’t know what to do, my teacher is very strict on this stuff.

I guess you didn’t of the school or local library?

Sorry, I meant to say “didn’t think of going to the school or local library”?

School Library all closed for AP Testing and I don’t have a ride to the local library as my parents work and I can’t drive.

Is the paper completed? My daughter had a similar situation once. There were problems so she couldn’t use turnitin and so she emailed the teacher with a copy of the finished paper. I would email the teacher right now explaining the situation and attach a copy of the paper so she knows that you are serious and not just stalling for more time. Most teachers will take off points but still allow you to get some credit. Good luck!

And your excuse not to take public transportation to the local library?

@dygibbs I don’t think this student needs to be reprimanded further. She will do the best she can to turn in her work and take the consequences.

Well teacher usually are reasonable, email her/him first or talk to your teacher first. Also, can you try doing it on paper, like with a pencil? Just to demonstrate that you completed the assignment. Teachers set deadlines like that because they do not want people to unfairly get more time.

the bus goes to the neighborhoods and to the school; if I had a way to get to the library, I would’ve. I’m ready to face the consequences and I just wanted to know the best course of action I could take for my mistakes.

Oh also, just say that you are on a trip with no wifi and your laptop is broken. do not say all that, it does sound very suspicious if you come up with too many reasons.

thanks for everyone’s help i just sent an email.

In this case I would have had my parents keep my teacher informed as to what was happening.

my teacher took it with a -10 point deduction! thanks everyone!
