Terrified.

I've literally been losing sleep and weight over my college choice. I'm not worried about being accepted - because I believe I did get in, but the problem is the financial part. My family's EFC is like... 7515 or something. We don't make a lot of money, and there's no way my family can help at all. My dad's a renal patient, so while he makes a fairly decent amount of money, all but $300 of it goes to medical insurance.

I've applied for the FAFSA and I'm going to recieve my financial plan thing in seven to ten days. If I am billed any amount of money, then to put it simply, I can't go to college. Being laid off recently, my funds are declining and obviously I can't pay for it on my own. That and this is the only college I can apply for. So basically, I'm in a very precarious situation. If I don't get in, I won't be able to apply for another. And it'd be a pain to back out after almost getting in because I can't afford it.

I've applied for financial aid but I've held off on a lot of scholarships until I know for sure I'm a freshman. Not that I haven't been working on essays. The only way I'll succeed in my school is to work very VERY hard.

What's exactly in the financial plan/packet? So I'll know ahead of time what's going to happen and my parents doing kick me out for landing them in a massive debt. After all my research, I don't know much of anything on how you actually PAY for college minus scholarships and loans. I don't know what happens after that.

Lacy - Have you sent your FAFSA to the specific college you’re interested in, or just submitted the FAFSA for processing? Why are you concerned about whether you’ll be a freshman? I am unsure why you’ve held off on scholarship applications. What is your college’s cost of attendance? A little more information could help a lot.

What college did you apply to?
What is the COA?
Why is this the only college you applied to?
Why would you hold off on applying for scholarships until you know you are a freshman
