Does the terry look at your FAFSA before they consider you for the interview or after?? If I have an EFC of 21k (although I will be paying for everything) do i still have a chance or does your EFC HAVE to be low?
@peanut1205 - Were you contacted for an interview? If so, then the college that nominated you felt that your special circumstances would be considered. I cannot imagine they would nominate anyone that they didn’t feel would be a good candidate.
@momoftres I have not yet been notified of an interview. I was only notified of advancing to the next round of review. My stats are solid i’m just afraid that my EFC would ruin my chances. My parents couldn’t save up for college because they went back to college themselves and only recently finished.
@peanut1205 - Did you write about your circumstances on your application?
My daughter received an invite to interview over a week or so ago. She had not received any information before that though. I am sure each college has their own time table and procedure. I’m also not sure if all the colleges do their interviews at the same time.
@momoftres I wrote about how my parents have been going to college and working so they couldn’t save for my college. And for what school was she notified?
Good. So they will definitely consider that. Daughter was nominated for UTA. @peanut1205
@momoftres I received the interview for UTA also! My interview is on April 6th, how about hers?
@peanut1205 @momoftres The colleges do not do the interviews at the same time. The interviews take place in a period of two weeks.
