whats the last testing day that regular decision and early decision colleges will look at your scores. it seems like the act only has 2 testing days before regular decision (jan 1st)?

if you go to the particular school you're interested in, it should list the "last day to take SAT/ACT" on their website for each type of admission (Early, Regular)

You should probably check with the college admissions office. Many will accept your scores after the application deadline. They might be able to tell you which test date is the last one they can get in time to consider your scores. If not, if they can give you a date by which they must receive your scores, you can figure it out. It helps if they can tell you how often they receive scores and how. If they receive scores by AIRO (ACT Internet Reporting Option), they could get your scores as early as ten days after the test date, or it could be several weeks afterwards if you took writing, tested standby, didn't copy your matching information exactly, or were affected by an irregularity at the test center.

In addition to October and December, there's a test date in mid-September if you're willing to travel to Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, or Washington.

why are they only offered in those states?

act is a stupid company compared to the collegeboard.

it seems sort of ridiculous. why those states? ugh. i'm in CT.. i could be crazy and go to pennsylvania.. maybe look at some colleges along the way.

Hey.. I live in CT too and im probably going to drive to Pennsylvania to take my test in September.. The fact that I can get an extra shot at the ACT makes the 3 hour trip worth it ( which, btw, is not all that bad )..

Ill probably try and check out UPENN and maybe, Penn State on the day I take my test since I'll take my test in Philly..

wazzup. IM me at xonicole143ox. i was just wondering what part of CT you are from. Also, obviously Penn. is quite large and it really depends on where the tests locations WILL be. I mean if they are right over the border or really deep into the state. I know that there are A LOT less CT test locations for ACT than SAT. I really want another shot at the ACT and knowing me, I will most likely take that sacrifice.

Would you actually leave your house at like 4 in the morning or what?

Hey...

I live in Hamden,CT.. I checked which test centers offer the ACT and the closest is probably Philly and a few other tests center in the area. Thats probably going to be a 3 hour drive...

I'd either leave at 4 am or i'd stay over at the nearby Hindu temple ( an hour away ) the previous night which provides free accomodation to worshippers... So it'l hopefully work out :)

backfire,
How many states have a September SAT date?

The September test date is given in only a few states because, since it's so close to the October test date, ACT has a shorter window to get all the scores processed before they have to start processing for October. So they have to keep the volume low. I imagine those states were originally selected for reasons having to do with college admissions or scholarship deadlines.

"act is a stupid company compared to the collegeboard."

and why is that? atleast they give you a chance to take the test one extra time, unlike collegeboard, which makes you wait till october.

lets see the ACT test dates

Test Date Registration Deadline (Late Fee Required)

Now theres is 6 six total for the upcoming year, 5 for most people.

Here are collegeboard's dates...

January 27, 2007
March 10, 2007

7 total....

If you were a good student anyways you would not need to take the test an extra time and would have studied. Plus one testing period in october is enough even if your applying EA

dont mind backfire.. he just hates act cuz he has only done well so far on SAT and refuses to take the ACT for fear of bad scores

he's a smart kid but a misguided one.. dont mind his arrogant comments
