test day "schedule"

tomorow, i will be taking a full practice test as if it is the real test. iknow during the real exam, there are breaks after certan sections and such. When are those breaks and how long are they? please provide the details of the actual testing so i can emulate it tomorwo

Every few sections, about 5 minutes each. You can’t really emulate it anyway since the order of the sections are never the same.

you only get breaks after a few sections? That sucks. I usually take a 2-3 min. break in between each. So, should I not be doing this?

after how many sections do i get a break? im not sure but is it afer the 3rd or 4th and antoher one sometiem later? please clarify

also, i know you need to arrive at the school at around 7:45,get ready, fill out the info on the booklets, etc. but waht ttime does the actual testing start.

section 1 (essay) & 2 (25 minutes each)
5 minute break
section 3 & 4 (25 minutes each)
5 minute break
section 5 & 6 (25 minutes each)
5 minute break
section 7 (25 minutes)
section 8 & 9 (20 minutes each)
section 10 (10 minutes)

sections 2-9 can be math, reading or writing - not everyone will have the same content in the same section as not all tests in the room are the same.

between 8:45 and 9 AM, depending on how close you are to the front of the line (seating is first come first served, so once a room is filled they close the class and get started while others are still in line). If you are toward the rear of the line on a day when many people have signed up, you will be seated in a room that starts later.

That is the exact script and schedule for the test, with the exception of not asking anymore for your SSN.

Hi,
I just found this thread. My D is taking two subject tests this Saturday and wants to go to work starting noon. The ticket says to be there at 7:30, which implies the testing will start at 8:00. Will she be allowed to leave after she’s completed her two tests or will she be required to sit tight until the allotted time has run it’s course? She couldn’t find any information on the College Board website addressing this.
Any insight from those who have taken two tests?

^
You leave right when you are finished with your last subject test.

Just remember that in your practice exam, one section is missing. On the real test, there are 10 sections, which includes an experimental section. Most practice exams skip that experimental section and therefore only have 9 sections

The actual test starts after all the formalities: listening to instructions and filling out the front page of the answer booklet and the top of the first answer sheet. Usually it takes 15-30 min.
In some testing centers the formalities start right when the room is filled to its determined capacity, in others a proctor would wait until everybody on the room’s assigned list came in - but no later than 8 am; I’ve heard though about a couple of cases when a proctor would wait well after 8 am for some “important” sudent to show up.
There is a 5 min. break between the first and second tests, but no break before the third one - it starts right after those who don’t take it left the room.

When I was taking the test, bunch of students gathered in the testing center, then the proctors came at about 7:50 or 8:00, and they each picked up their group of test takers for a particular test. Then we had to walk to another room, which was on the opposite end of the university. We started writing after all the formalities at about 8:30. We had 5 minute breaks each 2 or 3 sections, and each section we had like a 30 second or 1 minute long period when the proctor read the instructions out loud and inspected the students, so it could be considered a little break too.

Actually there is a break after section 2, section 4 and section 6. Everyone has these same breaks after the same sections. It’s in the test script booklet, which has to be followed to the letter.
