Hello friends! I was wondering if someone could tell me whether or not students will be penalized for not submitting their SAT score for next year. Colleges like Bowdoin are test optional although in most cases students have a better shot at admission when submitting scores. Will my admissions chances be hampered if I don’t submit my scores to schools like Cornell, Amherst, Williams, ect.
I have been reading up on this a lot. Generally, if you don’t submit scores, schools will assume that your scores were not competitive. I think the only people that benefit from not submitting scores are the people that are at the top of the middle 50% for stats or higher. If you don’t submit scores, everything else needs to be way above the average applicant. Not sure if this will change with Covid-19 or not.
@ADRichardson You can find out this information by searching the websites of colleges of interest. Policies are changing rapidly, so it’s worth rechecking as it gets closer to application season.
