I am about to submit my application to American University. They have a test option plan and I’m not sure what my crap test scores will do for me? I have a strong academic record and lots of involvement such as:
3.9 GPA
30 college credits (will have 45 at the very least upon graduation)
Health Sciences and Biotechnology Program
4 year varsity volleyball player, all league recognition, scholar athlete award
3 year mock trial participant (made it to state last year!)
Black Student Union
Stellar letters of rec from a former coach, school counselor, and teacher
8 week research intensive at the Knight Cancer Institute
Ronald McDonald House Charities House Host volunteer every week
OnTrack OHSU volunteer (teaching middle schoolers about different occupations)
Personal Statement is maybe a 7 out of 10 (included that I will be volunteering abroad in Fiji this summer and going to the Presidential Inauguration Leadership Summit)
I also had an informal admissions interview with the assistant director of admission and he was very impressed by me. So I’m pretty sure my scores won’t matter but I want another opinion.
