Test Scores: Will this look bad

My top schools so far include Dartmouth College, University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, Tufts University, Lehigh University, and New York University. After those, I have my safeties.

I want to apply early decision to Dartmouth College for early decision. Will some of my test scores reflect badly on me? [Some of these I have not taken yet, but I'm projecting after some studying.]

ACT [Will take in June, projection]: 34
SAT: 2000 700W, 720M, 580CR
SAT II Bio (first time): 630 [Did not study.]
SAT II Math L1 (first time): 680 [Too cocky to study.]
SAT II Chem (May, projection): 750+
SAT II Bio (2nd time, June projection): 750+
SAT II Math L2/C (June, Projection): 740+

Do you guys think my bad scores on SAT and some of my SAT IIs will reflect badly on the rest of my CB transcript and my ACT scores? [BTW, I don't plan on explaining any of this in my essays because that'll make me seem like a perfectionist and a very uptight person. And I've been thoroughly warned not to do anything like that.]

Thanks
tux

You'll want to bring those scores up. If you actually score 34+ on the ACT, you might consider not reporting your SATs. If you don't score well on the ACT, study and take the SATs again. If you bring your scores up into the strong 700's, you don't need to worry about the first test administration.

Best of luck to you!

However, the thing is that those schools, except for UPenn, require two or three SAT IIs no matter what. So, the scores will show up anyway. I was thinking of just relying on the ACT and my SAT IIs. Do you really think I should take the SAT again anyway if my ACT is really strong? Dartmouth requires 2 SAT IIs anyway, so they will see the SAT score as well.

Assuming you are not an URM, I would suggest a slight increase in your scores. I had 670W,680CR,690M with SAT IIs from 680-760 and got into Cornell ( I am an URM though) and my essay contained a very unique experience. Honestly, if your projections are correct and you increase ur CR into the 600s, I think you will have a fair shot at those schools.

Interesting to me that you are projecting great scores in everything when so far you've done well but not stellar. You're going to have to crack the books to get to that next level. Otherwise the schools you listed are long shots.

I know about the studying, but I didn't study for the first two SAT IIs I took. I've been studying for AP Chemistry, so the SAT Chem should be easy. Our math teacher helps us prepare for Math L2/C and I'll finish the book. I'm using the PR book for Biology, but I"m really working hard this time. And I'mf airly confident about the ACT.
