For the common app, do you guys think it would be ok if I just didn't write down any of my AP test scores? The reason being that my AP test scores are honestly pretty bad. I only took 5 AP tests so far and I'm a rising senior. I was horribly sick during the 4 tests I took last year and didn't do well. The 1st AP test, I just didn't know how to study at that time....

I feel like if I don't put down any AP scores, they might just forget about it. But if I do put my AP scores down, they might put it against me due to the bad scores.

Basically, will not putting down any of my AP scores affect their decision by much?

You definitely don’t have to list AP scores! I’m not listing any of mine. I’ve been given the advice that if your scores aren’t that good, just don’t send them. Wait until you’ve enrolled in a school and then send the scores you want to get credit for. Colleges won’t hold it against you if you don’t send them; even if they are sent, they are a very small factor in admissions anyways.

FYI - There is an old thread under College Admissions (AP Test Scores in Admission FAQ) in which the OP says a Harvard AO said failing to self report ALL AP scores is dishonest.

How is that dishonest though? All I’m doing is keeping quiet about it. I don’t really think I’m saying a lie or anything…but the thing is I honestly think my AP scores would hurt me if I put them up…
Thanks for both of your help though!

I’ve heard tons and tons of people apply without sending their AP scores. It’s really not a big deal, don’t sweat it. However, some schools, like Georgetown, don’t follow Score Choice and they require every single test score from every standardized test you’ve ever taken. That being said, I believe even with that policy, they don’t require AP scores; just SAT, ACT, and SAT IIs. So, really, don’t worry. You aren’t lying or anything, no big.
