Test taking Tips

Does anyone here have good tips for doing well on difficult college exams( especially in science and math) classes? I understand the material well in lectures and discussion sections, get the problems right in problem sets and such, but still make mistakes on exams and sometimes perform below my capabilities. What is a good strategy on exam day?

Please help.

Thanks.

This is a really general question, and depends a lot on the subject. Can you be more specific?

In another area of this site, I tried to help someone out with something similar.

There is an old school “pre testing” technique that you can do for math and science.

It involves keeping a running log of the problems you find most difficult, getting help for them, and then practicing those a great deal.

Timing yourself while practicing your math and science problems that you find hard and keeping a log of that is a good idea.

It is also a good idea to read through everything as often as you can because of how math and science and comprehensive and all of that.

Practice makes perfect.

15mins before the test just sit back and put on your ipod and think about how good you’re going to do.
