How was the testing environment when you all took the SAT? Did the room seem very crowded? Was the A/C on, etc? I just wanted to know so I can prepare myself for the 3 1/2 hours I will have to be in there.

I've taken 4 standerdized tests so far (5 more this year, and one of them the proctor fell asleep!) Each were 3 hour tests, and it'll be noisy If this is the 1st time you've taken a test of this magniitude, let me give you a summary of how I felt when I took my 1st Regent. (Biology)
(test starts at 1:15 PM)
12:45 : Get to the schooll
1:05: Memorizes the Barrons Regents book (red) in annd out like a madman
1:15 We are hannded out papers in a hot gym with a broken air conditioner and it's 95 degrees outside and AT LEAST 100 in the gym
1:22 :Been frozen from my seat for 7 minutes and finallly starts getting to work
1:35 : People are coughing, waving their papers to coool themseives, and little 'psst' in the background plus pages turning
3:35 : Finallly finish the test with a 81
If that sounds like fun to ou, thenn you are a sadist. Trust me: Your first minute when the test starts will be your worst.

My test was not like that at all.
It was more like this:

-Each test room had 12 test takers.
-working AC.
-an alert proctor
-no cheating bec. the room is so small and the proctor can hear everything.
- It wasn't that bad
-Except for the fact that the test was incredibly difficult.

Well, I'm just trying to show the guy the worst possible scenario that could happen. And the room WILL be noisy no matter what(and when you are nervous, and you will be, you can hear the little thinkgs mmuch better, ssuch as ppappers,, scribbling, and such)

maybe, but i don't really notice those things ('cause I do them too!)

Well, maybe not hear, but me more irritated, which is the same thing when you want to concentrate on a sat

Ah, there's your problem!

you're trying to concentrate! just don't do that and those little things won't irritate you.

(no spelling mistakes, see?)

so, you take an SAT and NOT concentrate? Okayyyyyyyyyyy.... hysterically laughs
(thank god for that ;))

You do know that I was kidding, right??
obviosly not.

I only can't concentrate in the CR (bec. it's so booooooring) but i'm fine in the rest.

Well, since most people on CC forums don't really have a sence of humor (yes that was an insult. Take THAT fr not responding (and still not :() to my thread) I thought you were.

Lol..thanks guys.. This is going to be my first time taking a real SAT test so hopefully I won't be so tense and sensitive to hearing the background noises you both had described.

sweaty hands ftw!
masamune, that's the worst part. Trust me.

Lol..yeah that can lead to bad things as well ;d

the proctor didn't warn us for the essay timing so i didnt finish my essay, the room was okay but the desks were kinda uncomfortable.

although there were plenty of space the proctor sat us down in the middle of the classroom all right next to eachother, so people constantly spent time covering their answers.

prepkid:

Ugh, that sounds bad. I hope I do not get a proctor like that.

well, masamune, you will find out what it's really like to be in that test room

Yeah..

Wish me luck..Lol

good luck!!!!!

Thanks... Good luck to you too man.
