testing for adhd

I was wondering if anyone knows how I might go about getting tested for adhd without health insurance? I had to take time off from my graduate program because I couldn't keep up with the work. I strongly suspect adhd, and need to get tested. However, I have no insurance, and can't afford the hundreds of dollars for what I think is often a lengthy process. I just get by on rent and food. I don't think I can resume my program without knowing if I have this problem, otherwise things will just be the same as before. Does anyone have any advice on getting a diagnosis for a person with no money? Thanks in advance.

Sorry bro, couldn’t help ya. I have ADHD but fortunately my parents pay for it, so all I could tell you is that it’s expensive as ****

Aside from medication, which so far hasn’t been shown to improve long term outcome anyway, there are things you can try whether you have been “diagnosed” or not. Still might have some costs attached, but just “knowing” doesn’t change things much.
