Testing frustrations - which to send?

I'm applying to Vassar ED I as a prospective English major. They require either the SAT and two SAT subject tests OR the ACT with writing. For the SAT, their middle 50% is 2050 - 2240, and for the ACT, it's 30 - 33.

I got a 2270 (760 CR, 740 M, 770 W) and a 790 on the math II subject test, and ___ on lit (more in this later).
I got a 31 (34 E, 31 M, 32 R, 29 S, and a truly impressive 6/12 on the essay (BLEH)).

Now, I'm going to be taking the October lit test. However, I've taken several practice tests, and I am really, really doing awfully. Like, below a 600. I always feel so confident and have extra time and have checked over my work, but I just always bomb it and end up interpreting the text in a completely different way than they wanted me to. In short, I'm really nervous about this test, and if I do awfully, which route do you think I should go - SAT or ACT?

Thanks for your help and reading my obnoxiously whiny post. Apologies for any typos as I'm on my phone.

SAT is the best route you could go. Just study your butt off for the SAT subject test and hope for the best

Yes try to knock the subject test (lit) out of the park if at all possible

I would definitely say send in SAT1 with your math subject test and if your lit test is terrible you can send in the ACT instead and been done with it. The only thing you have to lose regarding your ACT is, of course, the essay score and at least your writing on the SAT makes up for that (770!). Good luck with Vassar!
