Testing Out Of Calculus.

Question about the testing out of classes. Incoming Frosh here.

I took Math 141(Equiv of Calc BC) at a Community College last year, and recieved a A in the class.
Do I still have to take placement test for Calculus to test out of it?

Because it says on the website,"No other test scores or calculus courses (taken at other colleges or universities) may be used to exempt you from taking the calculus Test."

if you took it at a community college in california, go to [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) and see if you get credit for it.

^ I just looked and it’s xferable.
But do I have to inform the UC’s that I don’t have to take the placement exam because
I already took Math 141 at a CC, and to just place me in the math of my choice?

If you haven’t already, have your CC send the transcripts over. And then contact either UCI Admissions or counseling center to find out if you are cleared for math.

Chocomilkk, I’m basically in the same situation you are in. I have tried the admissions and they have told me to contact Testing. I have called testing and I believe the intern there told me to contact the Mathematics Department but advise to take the test anyway.( I’m not sure why I would have to since I believe the placement test is for a math that I got credit for at a CC.) Another representative from testing called me back as well and told me to call the Engineering department instead  I’m just going in circles with these calls ahah
