Testing out of CS 102

Hi, I hope to test out of CS 102 and was wondering if anyone has experience with the the difficulty of the placement exam.

According to UA, the placement exam tests a student’s “proficiency with basic software productivity packages (e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software & computing concepts).” Bama offers “study materials” for $80, but if I am reasonably proficient with Microsoft Office, do I really need to dish out extra time and money or can I just walk in cold and expect to pass?

The test is a “a 500-point exam” that “requires a minimum passing score of 380 points.” Does anyone know what kind of questions the test will ask?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I never took the class or the placement exam, but am told that if you’re familiar with computers and various commonly-used programs, you’ll likely pass the exam.
