Testing out of DiffEq

So, I've already taken Differential Equations in university and received credit for it (A's) while in high school. Is it in any way possible to test out of Differential Equations? There seem to be a bunch of classes you can test out of for math (which I'm certain I can test out of), but not Differential Equations... I understand that most people do not take DiffEq in high school, but...

Anyone know? Have people done this before?

Don’t know about the testing, but shouldn’t you be able to submit the form that is on the online link with your other initial forms, asking to receive credit for a college class? You should send that, an official transcript and it would probably help to send the course syllabus-they will consider accepting any college class you have taken.

One of my friends tested out of DiffEq. Sadly I don’t know if it was by actually testing out or just having taken an equivalent at a local college while he was in high school. He was an extremely smart guy, finishing in 3 years with a double major in Math and CS with a 4.0, though.

depends on your major

I took Diff Eq in high school with AEM by kresnig, and took the placement test, and they said I could either take 21-259 (calc in 3D) or 21-260 (Diff Eq). I took Diff Eq, and it was really easy (depends on who’s teaching).

The person to talk to about taking a test would be John Mackey (just google it), if you are CIT and you want to transfer the credit, talk to Kurt Larsen. If you are in the other departments, find the dean of the department.

Caveat1: Sometimes, it’s just easier to take these classes again, and get A’s. Yea it is a waste of your time, but it inflates your grade, and I’ve seen many kids do it. But get the transfer nevertheless (you can still take it again even with credit)

Caveat2: If you are a math major, they make you take an year long class that covers the material of Calc 1, Calc 2, Calc 3, Diff Eq, and Lin Alg. So it really doesn’t matter if you place out. You need to take it.

You should talk with the math head - John Mackey. He is pretty chill and will be able to assist you

Say you got As in calc I, II and III and place out, but you got like a C/D in diffEq. Of course you would retake diffEq, but would you be demoted?
