Testing out of freshman classes w/ ACT

I was bored and was just looking around OneStart (I'm an incoming freshman) and I clicked on "view my trasncript" and one of the things on there was this:

Test Credits - - - - -

Test Credit Applied Toward University Div Pre-CollArts&Sc Program Bloomington

ACT Assessment English or English Composition 2009-02-07 35

Transferred to Term Fall 2010 as

Course Description GPA Hours Earned Grade Points
ENG-W 131EX SEM 1 ENG COMPOSITION BY EXAM 0.00 0.00 T

Does this mean that I placed out of "ENG-W 131X SEM 1 ENG COMPOSITION?" And if it does, what kind of class is this that I'm placing out of?

I also have AP English credit; is that useless now?

You placed out of the basic 3cr. writing class required for all students. If you have a good AP score they give you credit for it, if you didn’t score high enough you are still exempt from taking the class (but no credits).

If you meet other requirements, IU will give you 2 credit hours for W143.
