Testing out of Precalc

So at my school, we are allowed to test out of nearly every class. We fill out the test-out forms by the end of March, get approval in April, and then in May we receive a packet containing the content we need to learn for the test out exam. I would have from May to August to study for the precalc exam, with the exam being in September, before school starts. In order to receive credit for the course, we have to get at least 70 or 77% right, I'm not quite sure on the number.

I don't know if I should test out of precalc or not. I'm thinking about getting one of my friends to do it with me, since he seemed interested. I'm doing it mostly so I'm challenged over the summer, and so I can take AP calculus Junior year. I'm good at independent learning and grasping new concepts quickly, so that should be a plus. I also am doing well in my Algebra 2 class.

So my questions to you: Do you think I should do it? why/why not? Do you think it's even possible? Any tips?

Are you testing out of precalculus honors? Does the test-out classes vary from school to school? It depends if you’re able to grasp concepts easily…What math class will you take in 12th grade if you take AP Calculus in 11th? BC or AB?..

Our school’s Honors Alg. II course is pretty much Precalc and our Honors Precalc was just a review of Alg. II with trig, so if it’s the same at your school, you should be good.
