I don't really like Drexel or Philadelphia in general, and thus I am looking to transfer out. Problem is, I have a good scholarship to Drexel and it is relatively near to my aunt's place, so communication is easier. I was wondering what are the chances of me getting into:

Cornell U

Johns Hopkins U

Maybe Penn

Brown

Georgetown

U Mich: Ann Arbor (I live in Canada and this is really close)

Carnegie Mellon U

Specifically into Biomedical Engineering.

Penn is an odd choice given that it’s literally across the street.

What about the program at Drexel don’t you like? Only consider transferring if the program itself is the problem: I’m a firm believer that ANYONE can make a school fit for them (in most cases; there are, of course, exceptions), so don’t undertake this lightly.

1) I am not sure it is worth it even with the scholarship
2) The academic atmosphere at Drexel, I feel, isn’t up to snuff
3) The campus is too small, not enough facilities, dorms aren’t great, and food is pretty crappy
4) Filthydelphia sucks. I am willing to overlook this though if I obviously get into Penn.

It isn’t the program. I am happy in Engineering. It’s the School.

This is so great…I’m a freshman at Drexel looking to transfer as well, for basically the same reasons.

I know what you mean about Penn, walking throug their campus is a hell of a lot better, but I think staying in Philly isn’t going to help you too much. I think you have a great shot at Mich. and Cornell as well.

good luck

anyone have a clue about my chances at some of the above places?
