Thanks and please let me know if you need more information

Texas Tech- High match- Honestly you are in though.

Texas A&M- Low Reach- The School is tough for people who are not auto admits, and computer science being in their engineering department does not help either.

Out of curiosity, why only Texas schools? There are plenty of good schools in California you have a chance at as well.

You are automatically accepted to Tech if you are in the top 50% and you have a SAT (CR+M) of 1250, so you’re in there. A&M will be a high match/low reach.

UT Austin is pretty much on the same scale as TAMU. After they fill auto admit slots, it’s pretty much who has the most impressive essays, and can bring more to the school. Your stats are fine for both and at least average if not a tad bit better. You probably have a better chance being out of state because they are going to want that OOS tuition. I’d say UT-Match. TAMU-Low Reach. Just because they’re a bit more exclusive.

Being accepted to a college is one thing, getting into a competitive major is another. You do have a chance at UT Austin but they really care about class rank.

So you guys think I could get into computer science at both schools coming from California. Cos they are top 11 for computer science and my GPA is not that high.
