Hi everyone! I recently applied to Texas A&M Mays Business school as a transfer student with a 3.65 GPA on 66 total credit hours. I am going for Finance. I have ALL of the required classes for transferring straight in. I had strong essays and good extracurriculars as well. I know that is a relatively lower GPA for getting into Mays though so I was wondering if anyone knows my chance or if anyone has relatively the same situation as me to chance me or give me insight? Thank you!!

Where are you transferring from? Have you made any connections at Mays? Do you want to start there in the fall?

Hopefully some Aggies will respond.

I was in TAMU MBA program many years ago (1980 - 1982), way before you were born. Still keep up with the prof I worked for though!

@SOSConcern I am transferring from a community college in Texas in the Houston area called Lonestar College. I haven’t talked to anyone at Mays, but I have talked to admissions advisors last summer that advised me. Yes, I am wanting to transfer there for Fall 2014. Thanks for the reply!! That’s amazing! If I don’t get in to get my bachelors there I am planning on getting my MBA there.

Good luck! When do you expect to hear from TAMU? Do transfer students have some kind of orientation/registration date once admitted?

My D will be going to UA in the fall, and she is looking forward to their “BAMA Bound”.

@SOSConcern Thank you! The closing date of the application is March 15th so hopefully not long after that. Yes, we have one a few weeks before classes start. Oh that’s very awesome! I’ve heard that’s a wonderful school.
