gig em! anyone else going to aggieland on the 19th?

We will be there on the 19th…anyone (not auto admit) who applied for International Studies heard yet? Getting nervous since son applied back in September and most accepted who have posted on here applied after that and have already heard…not thinking it looks too good:( Oh well, we will see:)

We went to the admissions event on Saturday…really enjoyed our time on campus. Went to the session for those “admission in review” students…it was jam packed with people at the 9:00 am session. University reps said that 50% of students for next year’s freshman class will be top 10 percent people, another 15% are academic admits that were not top 10 from texas people and that 35% will be admission by review candidates. Of that 35%, 65% have already been notified so not a whole lot of room left. She said they hope to have all decisions out in next 2-3 weeks. The staff said they had 30,000 applicants for 8,000 spots this year…a record for them. Yikes!! They discussed that some will be wait listed and some offered a spot on the Blinn Team…all in all, it was an interesting session.

Thanks beachmom24 for the information. That is really scary that ALREADY 65% have been notified. I will be checking the AIS login for the 2-3 weeks religiously. A&M is my number one choice and I regret not having applied earlier. Thanks!

Good luck to you…I hope you get in. They also told us they only update the AIS Systemm once a day (of course, not sure when that is:)) so they said you don’t have to check every hour or anything:)…

I’m almost positive AIS is updated around 2:00-2:40 AM. When I log in around that time, the system is always down.

The morning I saw my first change, the system went down around 2, and when I checked again at 2:40, I was on Step 4.
Around 6:50 AM that same day I saw a My Record tab and around 3:30 PM that same day I saw a Step 5!

Hope to help those who are still waiting. Good luck to all of you.

my son’s stats are actually very close to the same or slightly higher than some that have already gotten in so it is very discouraging…but good for those people:)!

Since I have not heard back from A&M I still have to do my homework… haha and AIS is down. But just a curious question… every time the AIS login is down, does that mean they are updating it? Anyways I’m trying to be patient :)

today…
not to burst your bubble or anything…
the chances of people getting in now is slim because they said they filled the freshmen class.

This is what they said ( I copied and pasted)
'Thank you for your interest in Texas A&M University. This year’s applicant pool is very competitive, and the number of high achieving, admissible applicants for Fall 2011 freshman admission exceeds the number of students we can accommodate in our freshman class. While we are unable to offer you full admission at this time, we are pleased to offer you the following options:"

sorry to hear that ugan9eds i am still waiting also.
But what I think they meant was there are a lot of people this year and there is not enough room for everyone. I do not think they meant they have already filled up.

And just wondering. What are your stats? Like ACT, Class Rank Quarter, things like that.

SAT Math+CR= 1290
Class Rank= 1st Quarter
Many extracurricular stuff
Didnt take the ACT.

I am very disappointed because I definitely had higher SAT scores and my rank is good so I wonder why I was waitlisted…I personally think this is bull*****…watever…

Ya I had a feeling if they waited this long I’d be rejected but I want my notice damn it takes so long. Now its between TCU and TAMU@Galveston lol

I applied in November and I thought I would get in because I was almost a academic admit. I had many activities and stuff. I am very surprised. Anyways, have you heard of university of tulsa? I cant get any good info on it…lolol probably wrong place to ask…
