Texas A&M college of science!

Hello! I am a freshman at UTSA, and am an undecided major in the college of science. I want to transfer to either A&M or UT next year (fall 2013), but I have a question specifically regarding admittance to A&M.

I am planning on being either a Chemistry or Physics major, but both require having CAL 1 and CAL 2 completed and I am only in pre-cal! So, I decided I would apply for transfer as a Biology major since Biology requires Chem 1 and Chem 2 which I will have completed by the end of next semester. I was planning on just changing majors somehow in the future.

It says for transfer students to college of science that you need to have taken Engineering mathematics 1 and 2 which I have not taken... I am in pre-cal at UTSA.... I don't think we even offer those courses... and also, if I were to apply as a bio major, I don't have any of the bio courses recommended on the degree track....

My GPA after next semester should be around a 3.3, to be realistic.

Basically I'm asking if A&M has some sort of general admittance; like, if I don't meet the requirements of the college of science, could I transfer as a general studies student or as an undeclared in the college of science? Do I have to transfer under a specific major/college in order to get in?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me if you know anything. I need to know as soon as possible. Thanks guys!!

Both engineering mathematics are just calculus 1 and 2, at least thats what my transfer credit says. I would recommend finishing the pre-requisites before applying. And your gpa isnt the greatest, although im not sure how hard is it to get into physics/ bio/ Chem. As I said just finish your credits up to calculus 2 then apply. If you’re in a hurry then go for it but dont mantain high expectations. Im also applyng for this fall for petroleum engineering.I have a 3.9 gpa and also calc1/2/3, physics 1/2, both Chems will be done by the time I would hypothetically enroll.

Good luck! regardless on what you choose to do
