I got admitted into the Texas A&M Engineering Honors for Computer Science today. I was wondering if I’m required to dorm in the honors dorms at TAMU or can I live in an apartment outside of the dorm?
@Shadowsych, the Engineering Honors Program does not require you to live in an honors dorm. My son is in the program; he lived in Hullabaloo freshman year, and off campus after that.
TAMU doesn’t not have any mandatory room/board requirement for Fish. I do recommend living on campus for first year to get adjusted for college life.

University honors has a requirement to live in particular housing but engineering honors does not. My son is a freshman in engineering honors and is living in the ECOS LLC but next year plans to move off campus.
Also Corps of Cadets has mandatory housing - if you are in both, Corps housing prevails.
We are waiting to hear if my son got into the honor engineering program. When did you apply?
I applied in early-to-mid December. I cannot remember the exact date, though.
