I’m currently a senior in a public school in Texas. I’m in the top 25%. My gpa is only 3.9 but I think by the time I apply it will be 4.1. I took us govt and calculus 1 as college credit. And I got 5 on Ap Chinese and 4 on Ap computer science. I’m taking dual credit us history, ap Chem, ap physics 1, ap economics, ap statistics and college credit Texas govt. But out of all these classes I’m taking right now, only Texas govt will count by the time I apply. My act score is 28 Do I have any chance to get into Texas A&M? Pls help!

You test score and GPA are in the middle range or low upper range of TAMU admitted students. Your have good chance.

But can I get automatically admitted into A&M if I get my ACT score above 30?
I don’t know about automatic admittance.
To get auto admit if you are not top 10% you need to be top 25% with a ACT of 30 (at least 27 math and English) OR SAT 1300 math/critical reading (at least 600 on each) Do you have that on the SAT ? You need to apply right away if you do. My son toured the engineering dept in Spring and talked to an advisor. He said about 85% of the engineering spots go to auto admits on 1st come basis. After that fills you have to be really competitive for those last spots. If you don’t already have what you need on the SAT it may be that you can apply right now and they could use scores from Oct test. May be worth a call to find out.
