i am a high school junior now when school will be starting in August and I was curious about my chances of getting into Texas A&M at college station to study biomedical sciences
I’m 23/241 so I’m in top 10%
I have 3years of foreign Lang
My GPA is a 3.600
I’m a varsity soccer player
I’m a varsity cross country runner
I’m in Spanish club and HOSA and debate club, also in student council
I consider myself a pretty well rounded student
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what number to aim for in the SATs and I plan to take classes for that this summer. Also let me know of my chances of getting in
Since you are just an upcomming junior you have time to raise your GPA a bit. It is not bad now, but raising would increase your chances. You should aim for 1800 on your SAT to be really safe. If you got your GPA to 3.7, then you could score lower on your SAT and still be accepted. I truly do not think you will have trouble being admitted, but the financial side may be a problem since you wont be competitive for most scholarships. Do well this year, study for your standarized tests, and stay/get involved. I wish you the best of luck.
You have good ECs, so yea like ^ said,
-aim for an over 1600 sat or over 26 act
-take good classes, maybe even check TAM out and see what their unit requirements are.
Good luck
If you’re a TX resident & you remain in top 10% - you qualify for automatic admission under the top 10% category. If you’re between 10-25% instate to top 25% out of state - you need to score 1300 (M+CR,min 600 each) or 30 ACT( min 27 in each ) for academic admission. If you miss either of those benchmarks you become a review candidate - half of decision based on rank & scores and other half everything else on your application.
Did you get in?
