Texas A&M PSA Vs Texas State

Hi, okay so I got offered PSA at Texas A&M and got admitted into Texas State. I either want to be a lawyer, physicist, or Marketing Manger. I am having a tough time deciding which offer to accept. None of the PSA system schools offer a major in business, psychology or pre law. Can I change my major once I am at A&M? I love that Texas A&M is such a great school, with an amazing football team. I love the campus and the reputation Texas A&M has. I also want to be a part of Greek Life and I have heard that it is hard to get into the good sororities as sophomore. Also, I’ll have to go to system school makes new friends and then again the next year move and make new friends all over again at Texas A&M. On the other hand I really like Texas State, it’s a beautiful campus. Plus I will be able to rush as a freshman and stay all four years without picking up and moving again. I just feel as if Texas State is not as a prestigious as A&M. I am stuck on what to do. Anyone who has gone through the PSA program I would really appreciate your advice. Thank you.

There is no guarantee for your preferred majors (i.e. business or psych) when transferring to College Station under PSA. Texas State is a better school than the PSA campuses and you seem to really like it. Why not enroll at Texas State and apply to A&M as a transfer student next spring if you decide Texas State isn’t for you?

sltxdad gave some very good advice. You could always transfer. Before I attended transferred to Texas Tech ($$$$) I was considering UT Austin, A&M, & Texas State. I too loved the campus & the fact that it was closer to my home (McAllen). UT Austin offered almost no financial aid. Texas Tech came through with a great transfer scholarship & a job so it was an easy decision. I was considering Texas State, but in all honesty I would only gone there if I could have gotten in the Honors College like I did at Tech. Overall, I did not hear very many positive things about Texas State when I asked around. My professors strongly encouraged me to go to Tech.
The advice to go to Texas State & then transfer if you feel you are not getting what you like & transferring over to A&M is great advice. My only regret with Tech is the distance from home.
