Texas A&M University Class of 2026

I already have and did. And I also came to know that what these people from admissions are telling me are complete BS since most of them have been the student workers there. ADMISSIONS CANNOT SIMPLY TELL ME THINGS (REGARDLESS OF STUDENT WORKER OR NOT SINCE THEY’RE EMPLOYED) AND EXPECT ME NOT TO TAKE IT SERIOUSLY. They have honestly told me that I was accepted early because my application “stood out” when I called them in December. I’ve been speaking with them very frequently over the last few months. I plan to take action against the admissions department by complaining to the office of the Provost because they have told me things that I’ve pursued only to later find out that it was never possible in the first place. They can’t just lie to students and get their hopes up only for the students to find out that it’s all misinformation.

Well @AnnKiVe, you and I are destined to go to way greener pastures :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
For the record, I really hoped that atleast you’d get in :disappointed:

@sk_420 , I BELIEVE everything you say. TAMU admissions has been anything but honest. Good Luck to you ! over the course of 7 months, I have called AO frequently and each time I called, I was given a different answer to the same question. Student worker or full time employee, they should be consistent in their verbiage and not treat callers like they are stupid.

@sk_420 I believe we all hear what you are saying, and I feel your frustrations clear as day. Please be considerate of those who just this past week found out they received PSA and would literally give their leg/arm to be in your place. “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth”

Instead of trying to figure out what went wrong, put your energy into your future and what you want to do about it…that is if TAMU can’t help you. You have a bright future ahead of you - enjoy the rest of your senior year and start planning your next life at college.

Good luck to you!!

Didn’t see your question earlier. UT Direct portal after admission student can do directory search. The search may be incomplete but if you need earlier may be better luck on campus tour for admitted students. TAMU may have to wait until after NSC after students class registration I supposed. What is the reason why you need to contact them?

Nevermind, saw the thread.
I think whoever told you about swapping majors was really bad. So bad that many people here thought you were a spammer. Any open seat will be given to waitlist I hardly doubt prestigious Mays will let you do so, not even the son of its dean.

Hello @KaYoung2025! If I remember correctly you declined TAMU and UT due to Cornell ED. How is life there?

I missed the blue sky in Texas I saw may be only three sunshine days in Ithaca the last six months. Trying my best to finish degree in three years.
My brother is going to apply TAMU and UT this summer, I forwarded him the 2027 thread. Very good info. on SRAR I didn’t even know when I applied last year.

Which Engineering Academy campus is your son at?

I have been lurking here for many months, but this is my first post. I want to get your opinions on the status of my daughter’s application. TAMU has always been her number one choice until now. She applied August 1st for Allied Health 1st choice and Nutrition 2nd choice. She is in the first quarter at one of the top 6A schools in Texas. Her SATs were 1330 and she is in multiple clubs, has tons of APs etc. In January she chose Waitlist and or Blinn option, however she has been offered nothing and has not received a rejection either. She is still on waitlist and the status on her AIS has not changed. At this point, she is so sad and frustrated that she is 99% planning to go to UArk, but she would really like to hear something back from TAMU. Any insights?

It’s probably good she hasn’t heard. People found out into April last year from waitlist group. Hang in there. U of ark is awesome too tho!!!

@Torye , the Admissions web page states “most students in review will receive a decision between January 1 and late March.”

Today is March 16. Just barely past “mid-March.” It’s not “late March” yet. Admissions still has another two weeks to deliver on their word.

If you look at post #4598 where I recapped the end of last year’s thread, you’ll see that some people got full admission well past mid-March.

Don’t give up. We’re the Fightin’ Texas Aggies. We fight to the bitter end.

My son is in the exact same position, and I was wondering the same thing. 1310 SAT, top 11% (was top 6% until we moved schools his junior year which I now regret so much), will graduate with 33 hours of AP/DC credits, varsity football, NHS, has a job, etc. Applied August 1st. Business 1st choice. Econ second choice. Once he heard Mays was full he switched his 1st choice to Communications. Got the Teams/waitlist option in January. He was raised an Aggie so had his heart set on A&M, but he is so deflated that he didn’t get in that he’s moving forward with Arkansas. I’m still holding out hope he gets into A&M and will go that route if he gets the opportunity. This is rough! There just doesn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason as to why some get in and some don’t (outside of top 10%). I’ve seen some really good stats get turned away.

And @Torye, IMHO…I think it’s good you have not had a final decision from TAMU yet. If a massive wave of PSA went out and you didn’t get PSA over the weekend, that’s a good sign that you’re still in the running. The wait and not knowing is psychologically wearing on spirits for sure.

Have you visited Arkansas yet? I heard it’s great. Want to get up there in the next two weeks to check it out.

Not yet. I hear it’s a gorgeous campus. We know quite a few people headed there.

@Bhawk103 so did your son receive PSA, or is he still waiting to hear from A&M? Great stats!
I haven’t officially toured Arkansas, but have driven thru the campus. Gorgeous campus & surroundings! UArk Walton Business School is fantastic!

He is still waiting to hear from A&M. He got the Teams/Waitlist option in January and nothing since. His good friend is going to Arkansas, so he’s proceeding as if he’s going there. I hear the school of Business is great so it’s a good option, but I’m a little biased towards A&M (class of '97).

Gotcha. Really strong stats, I agree there doesn’t seem to be a real ‘rhyme or reason’ to holistic acceptance. I tend to think if he wasn’t given PSA last weekend (he’s checked AIS status daily, correct?), that’s a good sign.
If he does get an A&M offer, you’ll need to find off campus housing, as dorms are Temp & Wait List now. But there’s plenty of close off campus, won’t be a problem.
If Business is his #1 major choice, and he’s been admitted to Walton, I’d take that!
Keep us posted!
