If accepted into both where should i go?why?

i’m sorry, i don’t know what UIUC is…

UIUC is the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. UIUC is a top 5 engineering school. Heads and shoulders above A&M. Ranked 39th nationally compared to A&M’s 61st.
Go to UIUC unless you’re instate for A&M.

I disagree with Xcellerator’s judgment. I personally think you should visit both schools, decide what part of the country you’d like to live/work in, and make your decision from there. Rankings are not everything, and both are excellent engineering schools that will give you excellent opportunities.

And quite honestly, many of the engineering firms in this state may have a reaction similar to klparker’s.

Both are great engineering schools. UIUC is perhaps a bit more well-rounded, but you would likely end up paying significantly more (unless in-state at Illinois). Wait until you get your admission decisions and financial aid offers.

UIUC is not that much better than TAMU in engineering. Sure in rankings it appears that way, but really i dont see much to gain out of going to a “slightly” better engineering school. I do agree with the other’s who are saying to weigh the costs.

The Aggie network is a lot stronger than UIUC’s unless you’re in Illinois or a state bordering Illinois.
