Texas A&M vs The Ohio State

I have been stuck deciding between these two schools for about a week now and it is stressing me out so much. I live in New York State and both schools end up costing about the same…(TAMU is technically cheaper but the cost of travel evens it out). What are pros and cons of each school? I have my own little list but hearing things from people who went there would be great

Unless you have Southern connections or are rather conservative, you will probably be more comfortable at OSU than at TAMU.

TAMU is way over 90% Texans, and is considered one of the most conservative student bodies in the country. If you are left of center, you will not have an easy time unless you also have a great sense of humor. However, for winter weather TAMU beats OSU hands down.

I live in Columbus, so I can say with conviction that winter weather here is horrid. If you are from upstate NY, though, Ohio is probably slightly milder. (Syracuse, Buffalo and Rochester are far colder and get more snow than here) OSU is probably going to be better academically than TAMU in most departments except engineering which probably is roughly equal at these two schools. Columbus is not an especially good college town but not bad either. Most of the things worth doing are within five miles of the OSU campus.
