I applied to Texas A&M and U of Texas at Austin in beginning of Jan. Does anybody know when will I be able to receive the final verdicts? I heard both schools have rolling admissions, so my guess would be in next few weeks? ...

It really seems completely random who they let know early and who not. If you are top 10% you should know pretty soon but otherwise you won't find out until late March or early April probably.

The term "top 10%" is kinda vague, though. Do you mean top 10% SAT scores? Or just top 10% students?

Students...

This only pertains to Texas residents...if you have never heard of it I doubt you live in Texas. It is the top 10% of your graduating class, i.e. rank

My daughter applied at the first of December and all her credentials were received within the first week. We are still waiting to here something. Everyone I ask gives me a different answer. "Rolling admissions, reviewed in order of receipt, will start hearing in January, won't here until early March, won't hear until late March. It is getting very frustrating. She's heard from 6 other Texas universities and that was before New Years, but not TAMU. I had read an article from a couple of years ago about the "new computer admissions system" they had purchased. They should get their money back.

wow, this is an really old thread that you dug out...
Although, I fully understand what you are frustrated about. My mom is almost getting on my nerves b/c she is constantly on CC and calling my colleges about my admission status.
What i'd say about TAMU is that they probably wont send back our final verdict until April.
However, according to posts above and assume that your D is top 10% in her class in Texas, you should receive a reply fairly quick...

Unfortunately, my daughter in not 10%. She is in review. I was only concerned about the information TAMU was giving instead of just being honest and saying "we want to view the whole pool of applicants before making our decision".
