I’m currently going through the process for admission to USNA and West Point for class of 2021, I feel that I am well qualified as far as academics, leadership, and athleticism. However, I am a bit concerned about my congressional nomination, as I understand Texas is one of the more competitive states. My parents are divorced and I live in Texarkana (half my town is TX and half is AR), I split my time between both parents. My mom lives in Texas and my father lives in Arkansas…Would I have better luck seeking a nomination in West Arkansas over East Texas?
A few variables are that I go to a Texas High school and drive from Arkansas, and I understand that Arkansas curriculum is easier than Texas curriculum, which means they could possibly have a GPA higher than mine. Though I did graduate high school with an associates degree, which I understand is an extreme feat in Arkansas compared to Texas.
I know this sounds a little silly, I would just like to be as thorough as possible. Thank you for your feedback!
