Texas Financial Aid Among Worst in the Nation

<p>When you add in housing, books, transportation and football tickets, the total estimated cost of attendance, in-state, is $22000 to $25000. Same source.</p>

<p>According to the college board - instate tuition and room & board for Penn State is $20594, for UT it is $16246.</p>

<p>The PA state legistature considers in-state tuition to be “financial aid” for Pennsylvanians.<br>
I can’t give much sympathy. sorry.</p>

<p>justamom, I don’t think folks were talking about tuition or COA, though both are of critical importance when deciding “affordability”.</p>

<p>of course they are important.
Perhaps the affordability of state universities in Texas is difficult for low income Texas students but it is the same in plenty of other states - sometimes even worse.</p>
