I'm graduating high school next year (2014). My parents and I have been living in Texas for the past 14 years. However we are planning on moving to California after I graduate from high school. I want to go UT Austin or UT Arlington. Will I still receive in state tuition or will we have to pay out of state tuition? Will this create problems?

I may be wrong but I think if you graduate from a Texas school, you can qualify for in state tuition but I’m not positive so you might want to call an admissions counselor at those schools.

Here are the residency rules. [College For All Texans: Residency Information](<a href=“College For All Texans: Home”>College For All Texans: Residency Information) Go through them closely. From my first reading it looks like you would retain residency.

In fact, if you go to school in a Texas high school for at least 3 years and reside in Texas during that time you are a resident. You do not even need to the a US citizen for this to work. My international student went to Texas private High school for 3 years while she lived with us. We got her enrolled in University of Houston with instate tuition rates.
