If anyone other than me took that test today, do you remember any of the solutions?
there was a problem about the sum of the ages of two brothers (it talked about the remainder being 40 for each one).......another problem about the two digit numbers product perfect square.....and then one about two equations (i think x^3 and x^2 and something) and what was the value of c......i know this probably doesn't belong in this forum but i can't find anyplace to post this....im not in urgent need of solutions...im just curious....

1.)0 (the one w/ (x-2005)^2)
2.)2 (the triangle and quadrilateral one)
3.)8 (the one with the 5 x 5 grid)
4.)26 (the perfect squares one)
5.)-10/3 (the x^2, x^3)
6.) 59 (the sum of the 2 brothers' ages)

Don't all states have the math league questions? I was under the impression that ML was a national thing but scores are only compared within each state.

yeah we had those same answers in nj

the answer for te last question was 81... not 59... i saw the answer sheet

I took the test in NY today and had the exact same answers. The last one was 59 if I remember correctly.

Yeah it was 59, my teacher read off the answer sheet to our class because we bugged her.

i thought number 2 was= 6
b/c .........3-x = 5-x ........ x=1 ................ 1 + 5 = 6

and for number 5...i believe it asked for a rational answer

Well, I think the equation for no. 2 was 4+3 = 5+x
and -10/3 is a rational number....

I took that same test in Ohio. Seems that this months test was ridiculously hard. I did well on the October one.

Kid in my class who got 6's on like every test last year got a 5 (he also got a 2400)... he didn't count 0 as a perfect square. Did other people have trouble with this one?

Not only did I get the perfect square question wrong (for some reason I didn't count 19 and 91.. I have no idea why), I also got the last 2 questions wrong, pulling off a 3. I was quite ****ed.

I have a copy of the questions and the answer sheet right here.. all of Mr. Layman's answers are correct.

if it's a national thing, couldn't people like me in ohio just tell the people on the west coast all the answers? we take it from 3.00-3.30 EST...

I did get the perfect squares problem wrong, as I forgot to count 0. :-\
Hopefully, I won't fall too much in the rankings, lol.

How many people in your guys' schools get 6's frequently?

5's?

What kind of schools do you go to?

Argh, now I feel stupid for saying my last post.

Noone in our school of 1700 (grades 9-12) got a 6 last month...Higest was a 5......I only got 4 though, because I misread on that 5x5 grid problem with the squares.
