Take two...

First thread got hijacked, so I thought I'd start another.

Any comments about Texas State University would be very welcome. Good or bad.

Oldest daughter was offered a scholarship there and it looks like (what do you guys call it again?) a good "safety" school for her now. She's still holding out hope for UT, I think, but without some assistance, it will be financially out of reach for mom and dad.

I guess I’ll start…

My daughter had a very positive first impression when we walked the campus last summer. We dropped in on a theatre performance, wandered through the library and several buildings, and just got a “feel” for the place and it’s layout. Seemed real nice to her, and her mom and I as well. Not too big, not too small. And the size of San Marcos is familiar to her. She also liked the rolling hills and the river nearby. Nice features.

I’d like to know more about the programs there. She’s interested in Anthropology primarily, but I can see her interests leading her into history or science too. I’d classify her as having strong tendencies, but still undecided…

Any info about dorms or other campus facilities?

Any “watch out” items to look for?
