Texas Tech honors or UNT?

Hi, I would like to double major in fashion design and political science. Both Texas Tech and UNT have those programs. I was wondering which school would be better for me to attend based on academics? I really like Texas Tech, but I am not into partying. I haven’t looked into UNT as much. Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply, but I just saw your post. If you are still deciding, here’s a pitch for the Texas Tech Honors College. From day 1 you will be treated specially at Tech for being an Honors College student. As an Honors College student, you will be first in line to register for courses (versus last in line as a freshman at Tech or other universities. My son graduated from the Honors College and loved it. Academically, Tech has a Phi Beta Kappa chapter (for excellence in liberal arts). Among Texas state universities only UT Austin and A&M have Phi Beta Kappa chapters. Also, Tech was recently recognized nationwide as a Tier One research university. You can’t go wrong with Tech and the Honors College.

I’m with Lonestardad on this. I am about to finish here at the Honors College at Tech. As a matter of fact, Lonestardad helped me with a lot of advice prior to committing to Tech. I have never attended a party here or anything like that. There are all sorts of people here. You ultimately choose how serious or how lax you want to take your studies. On top of all the advantages Lonestardad said, I also received a hefty $cholar$hip and a job here. They also paid for my study abroad this past summer in Spain. I basically had to pay for my flight & spending money, which was very little.
Another thing, Texas Tech University is a Tier 1 school, UNT is a Tier 2 or 3. You can’t really compare the two schools.
