Texas Tech or University of Texas?

Hi everyone and thanks for reading. I have got accepted in to Texas Tech and got offered the CAP program at UT. I would really like to go to UT, but its not cheap and i’m worried about messing up the 3.9 required GPA for me to get in to their business school. Also Texas Tech has given me some money already, and would be easier to pay for in comparison. I don’t know what to do and i’m really torn in between the two. I want to study business and i know UT has a really great business school, but how much of a difference would it make if i went to Texas Tech?

Isn’t it hard to get accepted into UT’s business school from CAP? A 3.9 would be really hard to maintain. I think Tech is a better choice for you.

3.9 isn’t expressed as the required (3.2 is), but my friend said everyone with a 3.9 got in with that GPA. Would you still say Texas Tech if i had a back up major in mind?

Having been offered the same thing this upcoming year, I am just as torn as you are. I loved the Austin campus and loved the city feel, having said that I am also worried about the GPA requirements and don’t want to end up staying with the CAP program and not being able to transfer over. As for Tech I have just come back from a visit and I’m not sure how to feel about it, the business school is gorgeous and from what I’ve heard has a good reputation. If you have already made your choice please let me know what the defining factors were?
