I just got my 25 percent presidential scholarship from Texas Tech, while the 16 k is good for some parts of my tuition I am confused on if that is my FAFSA money or a merit-based scholarship the school gives me outside of the FAFSA. I am looking through the financial aid form it only lists the presidential scholarship and I am not able to see any other FAFSA related anywhere on the form. So my question is, “Is this presidential scholarship preventing me from getting more extra money from FAFSA?”, this is really stressing me out and I do not know how to decide on which school to pick without wagering the amount of money I will be receiving. Please help me clarify this situation.
@TyTran I would call the financial aid office at Tech and clarify. I don’t think the Presidential Scholarship will prevent you from getting need-based aid, but every school and individual is different.
