Did anyone on the board apply to Texas Tech University- Health Science Center's Undergraduate to Medical School Iniatitive program? Joint admission, no MCAT, locked in. 10 students a year. Texas residents only.

My D did and we confirmed today that everything was in. ( What a relief.) Today was the last day to file. If my D is accepted to this program (Yeah, right.) with its mentorship and research and counseling and other assorted accoutrements, it will be very difficult for her to turn down. I wonder why it doesn't get much play on the board? Seems like it gets plenty of applicants, and I know that that there are other state specific programs talked about.

She may have had a reasonable shot at UMiami and Case where she was awarded their best academic scholarships to UG (Singer and Trustee's respectively), but the costs of med school were just too high with no guarantee that scholarship money would be there.
