Texas Tech University- College life- For an International Student

hey guys,

Texas tech has accepted a Total of 60 credits, and will be using only 17 credit hours against my course.

I have decided to go with Texas tech itself. I hope I have made a good decision.

My goal is to get an admission in Texas Austin or Texas A and M later on, Maybe transfer, or maybe for MS. I hope Texas tech provides as a good platform.

I had Some questions to people who had studied in Texas Tech at some point of time:-

What kind of on-campus jobs can i expect, and what is the frequency and average pay?

I am planing to go for Electronics and Computer engineering, I hope this a good choice, and the department is good?

Can International students be part of the football team?, Can they tryout atleast?

What kind of Gpa should I maintain, in order to maybe shoot for probable transfer to a better college later on.

Which companies often come to TTU for jobs?

Which Dorm should I choose? Which one is closer to the engineering building, or all in all a better and reasonable deal? I kind of liked the Murray, and I also got permission to be part of the Learning community called "Transfer Connection"

Is it better to stay off Campus?
